It happened. Maybe the hope and promise was all a dream, but reality is a kick in the teeth. And now the ship is chugging off into the sunset and we need to say Adios! Auf Wiedershen! Ciao! Au revoir! Slán! We are gonna miss the freedom to live, work and retire anywhere in Europe, the free trade, the cooperation, the getting-along-with-each-other-and-not-going-to-war. You know – those intangibles. But most of all – we are going to miss you. As we carve these separate paths in the future – do remember – I love EU.
